NMW 2014 (May 13 - 16, Sydney Showground) will present Australia's largest showcase of welding, heat-treating, joining and associated products and technologies. Described by NMW Exhibition Director, Anthony Reed as one of NMW's 'aces', the Welding Technology Product Zone will once again house a broad range of welding applications from across the globe.

Reed comments, "Visitors are always drawn to NMW's Welding Technology area. What makes this Product Zone such a standout is that it's alive with demonstrations - which really catch visitor attention and in turn, prove to be a valuable way for exhibitors to draw attention to new developments or their wider ranges of solutions."

Certainly, feedback from welding industry exhibitors at NMW 2013 was very positive. Among exhibitors was Metal Science Technologies, who used the event to launch their mepBLITz Mobile Electropolishing machine.

Cerys Hawkins, Operations Manager at Metal Science Technologies says the machine - described as the "fastest in the world" - has been extremely well received. Responding to demand, the company has created a range of accessories including the world's largest brush, which will be launched at NMW 2014.

Hawkins comments that NMW has been a key element in the company's growth strategy.

"Since we began the company eight years ago, we've been at almost every NMW, and it's great way to reach across the market. We still get people coming out of the woodwork, who are just thinking about transforming their operations to modern systems like ours. We also get quite a bit of interest from other exhibitors - for instance, last year we started talking with some of the companies in the robotics areas, and we're looking at some joint projects with them," Hawkins said.

The Welding Technology Zone will be part of a new floorplan for NMW, designed around independent research and insights into industry directions. In all, NMW 2014 will incorporate a record 15 Product Zones, as well as the triennial Ausplas exhibition, reflecting the drivers of industry growth and catering to the broadest cross-section of industry visitors.

NMW will also present three Solutions Theatres - the R&D Hub, Digital Hub and Workplace Safety/Cleantech Hub - with a rolling program of speakers in each Solutions Theatre offering ideas, innovations and strategies for gaining new sources of competitive advantage.

Anthony Reed concludes, “NMW 2014 has been designed to give offer ideas that are of broad appeal. We’re aiming to provide more reasons to visit- and therefore, more reasons to exhibit.

“More than 100 companies have already committed to participating in NMW. 2013 and available space is being quickly allocated. I urge anyone thinking of participating to contact us as soon as is possible, to secure their place,” Reed concluded.
