The Commonwealth’s $90 billion investment in defence equipment and emphasis on Australian Industry Content (AIC) has created a unique opportunity for SME to join the defence global supply chain.  Through its Defence SMART Group WTIA has been working with global shipbuilding and armoured vehicle prime contractors to look at what it takes to participate on a national and international level. WTIA CEO Geoff Crittenden, a former engineering officer and graduate of the British Army Staff College, is uniquely placed to assist welding companies to take advantage of this once in a generation opportunity.
