Three ground-breaking product releases from HW Technologies at NMW 2008

14/04/2008
HW Technologies will launch three new pieces of equipment for Australian industry on Stand 2000 during National Manufacturing Week at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre from May 27 to 30.

These new products include the surface mount technology (SMT) sector’s first jet printer; a tower that stores, picks and delivers SMT components; and a portable acoustic camera that creates images of sounds and their sources will be featured on the stand.

The Mydata MY500 printer, the Royonic SMD (surface mount device) Tower and the GFaI acoustic camera were in keeping with the company’s mission “to differentiate itself by bringing the very latest acoustic and electronic testing and production technologies to Australian industry,” HW Technologies director Hugo Waibel said.

The MY500 shoots solder paste or glue on the fly without touching the printed circuit board (PCB).

"This revolutionary jet printer uses no stencils and offers many advantages over older-style screen printers," Waibel said.

"The MY500 provides greater freedom for PCB design and virtually no changeover or lead times. Solder paste deposits can be adjusted on the spot in three dimensions."

The SMD Tower, which occupies 1 sq m of floor space, delivers up to 546 SMD reels and trays and takes only a maximum of eight seconds to dispense one.

It also records every movement and tracks stored components and is available with a humidity absorption unit.

The GFaI camera creates maps of sound sources, similar to thermographic images, within minutes. These can be used for sound analysis and quality assurance and to assist with noise reduction.

Other products available through HW Technologies include Elabo ergonomic workbenches, Colinbus CNC machines, Reprint stencil printers, Flexlink conveyor systems and board handling equipment, Montech conveyor systems and materials handling equipment, Asymtek conformal coating, EFD dispensing products and ESP solder paste.
